Edward Duncan Obituary, St. Louis, MO Hit-and-Run Death

A tragic incident in St. Louis, Missouri, has resulted in serious criminal charges after a bicyclist was killed in a late-night hit-and-run crash in the Dutchtown neighborhood. Authorities have charged 50-year-old Edward Duncan with first-degree murder and armed criminal action following the deadly event.

The crash occurred around 11:20 p.m. Thursday in the 4700 block of South Grand Boulevard. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, a Toyota Scion struck a man riding a bicycle. The driver then abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled on foot, leaving the victim critically injured. Despite emergency response efforts, the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been publicly released.

Investigators later determined that the incident may not have been accidental. According to a probable cause statement, Duncan had been involved in an earlier confrontation with the victim. Authorities allege that he intentionally entered his vehicle and pursued the bicyclist as the victim attempted to leave the area.

This development shifted the case from a hit-and-run investigation to a homicide inquiry. Law enforcement officials located and arrested Duncan sometime after the incident. He is currently being held without bond as he awaits his arraignment hearing.
