Beloved Clare Nun Passes Peacefully at Athlunkard Nursing Home

Sister of the Reparation Convent, a cherished figure in both Limerick and Monaghan communities, has passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, in the care of Ailín, SMR Personal Assistants, and the dedicated staff at Athlunkard Nursing Home, Westbury, Corbally, Co. Clare.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, John and Agnes, and her many siblings: Kevin, Sean, Ben, Claire, Gabrielle, Dan, Addie, Carmel, James, Tom, Peter, Charlie, Pearse, Una, Dermot, and Brendan. Her life was one of devotion, service, and unwavering faith, leaving a lasting impact on her Reparation Sisters and the communities she touched throughout her life.

Deeply mourned by her Reparation Sisters in community, her sister Nuala, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, and close friends, her passing marks the end of a life dedicated to care, compassion, and spiritual guidance. Those who knew her remember her warmth, quiet strength, and enduring commitment to serving others.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate, on Monday, April 6, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The funeral cortège will arrive at St. Nicholas Church, Westbury, Corbally, on Tuesday, April 7, for Requiem Mass at 11:30 a.m., followed by burial in Mount St. Oliver Cemetery, Limerick.

Her legacy of faith and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. Messages of condolence may be left online or in person, honoring her memory and the love she shared with family, friends, and her Reparation Sisters.
