Renowned Monaghan Doctor Dr. Rory O’Hanlon Passes Peacefully at Home

Dr. Rory O’Hanlon, a respected physician from Mullinary, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, and Mullaghbane, Co. Armagh, has passed away peacefully at his home on March 31, 2026, surrounded by his cherished family.

Dr. O’Hanlon, remembered for his dedication to medicine and his community, was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Anna Mary (Daisy), and his sisters, Sr. Deirdre O’Hanlon SSL and Dr. Maeve Smyth. His life was marked by compassion, service, and devotion to his loved ones.

He is deeply mourned by his loving wife Teresa, his daughters Fiona and Dearbhla, sons Rory, Ardal, Neale, and Shane, as well as his sons-in-law Michael and Trevor and daughters-in-law Melanie and Ursula. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren—Eimear (Christopher), Conor, Ronan, Niamh, Emily, Rebecca, Redmond, Eve, Cormac, Turlough, Donnacha, Fergal, and Laura—and great-grandchildren Cara and Eabha, who brought joy and pride to his life.

Dr. O’Hanlon is also survived by his sister Sr. Fionnuala SSL, his brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbors who remember him fondly for his generosity, humor, and unwavering guidance.

Throughout his career, Dr. O’Hanlon touched countless lives, providing care and comfort to patients while balancing a devoted family life. His passing is a profound loss for both his professional community and his family, who will continue to honor his memory through love, remembrance, and the values he instilled.
