It is with deep sorrow that we report the tragic death of 29-year-old Denisha Delancy from Miami, who was killed in Sint Maarten on March 2, 2026. Denisha, an alumna of Florida State University, was enjoying a birthday vacation with her sister and friends when she was caught in a targeted shooting that also claimed the life of the driver, Quincy Damon Sylvester.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours on Arlet Peters Road. Surveillance footage from a local club shows unknown men tracking the SUV that Denisha and Sylvester were traveling in. Authorities initially suspected a traffic accident, but the discovery of bullet holes led to the reclassification of the case as a double homicide. Police believe Sylvester was the intended target due to alleged criminal connections, making Denisha an innocent bystander caught in a tragic situation.
One suspect linked to Trinidad has been arrested, while others involved in the shooting, including the gunman, remain at large. Investigators are working to bring those responsible to justice.
