CHATTANOOGA, TN — The Chattanooga Police Department is conducting a formal investigation into a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of 19-year-old Riley on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. in the 5700 block of Highway 153 southbound. According to preliminary findings from investigators, the fatal sequence of events began when an SUV attempted to turn across the southbound lanes to enter a local parking lot.
The motorcycle operated by Riley collided with the passenger side of the turning SUV. The force of the impact was so significant that the SUV was propelled forward, subsequently striking a parked vehicle.
