San Diego, California — A heart-wrenching tragedy has sparked an outpouring of support for the family of 6-year-old Hudson O’Loughlin, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Pacific Beach on January 17, 2026. As of January 23, a GoFundMe campaign has raised over $85,000 to help the grieving family during this incredibly difficult time.
The fatal crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Pacific Beach Drive, near Ingraham Street. Hudson was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a Jeep driven by 32-year-old Tiffany Sanchez. The vehicle turned into an alley and hit Hudson, knocking him off his bike. Sanchez briefly stopped but then accelerated away, running over Hudson as she fled the scene. Despite quick medical intervention, Hudson was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead from his injuries.
Hours later, San Diego police located Sanchez’s vehicle in National City and arrested her. She faces charges of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, hit-and-run resulting in death, and driving without a license. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
