Dutchtown Hit-and-Run Death, St. Louis, MO Crash

A tragic and disturbing incident has left the Dutchtown neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri, shaken after a bicyclist was killed in a violent hit-and-run crash late Thursday night. Authorities have identified the suspect as Edmond Duncan, who now faces serious criminal charges following the deadly encounter.

According to investigators, the incident occurred just before 11 p.m. in an alley along the 4700 block of South Grand. Police allege that Duncan, driving a white Toyota Scion, struck a man riding a bicycle. The impact was severe, sending both the victim and the bicycle into a nearby garage. Instead of remaining at the scene or seeking help, the suspect fled on foot.

Further details revealed that Duncan had allegedly been involved in an earlier confrontation with the victim and intentionally used his vehicle to follow him. Authorities later located the suspect hiding inside a residence, where he was taken into custody without incident. He has since been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action and is being held without bond.

The crash left a lasting impact on residents in the area. One nearby family reported being awakened by a loud crash, only to discover the devastating scene outside their home. Surveillance footage captured moments after the incident, showing the driver exiting the vehicle before leaving the victim behind.

Neighbors described the event as shocking and heartbreaking, expressing sorrow for the victim and frustration over the suspect’s actions. Many noted that immediate assistance could have made a difference.
