Authorities in Marion, South Carolina are investigating a shooting incident that took place at an apartment complex parking lot, leaving one woman facing multiple criminal charges, including attempted murder.

According to Marion Police, the incident occurred on Saturday in the Plaza Court apartment complex parking area. Investigators say 26-year-old Shanya C. Lampley of Marion allegedly fired shots at a person who was inside a vehicle parked outside the complex.

Law enforcement officials responded to the scene following reports of gunfire. While details surrounding the events leading up to the shooting have not yet been fully released, police confirmed that shots were fired toward the occupied vehicle during the confrontation.

No injuries were immediately reported in connection with the incident, but authorities have charged Lampley with several offenses, including attempted murder, escape, pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, petit larceny, discharging a firearm within city limits, and malicious injury to property.

Following her arrest, Lampley was taken into custody and is currently being held without bond at the Marion County Detention Center on the attempted murder charge. She is expected to appear for a hearing in circuit court.

Police have not released further details about what may have led to the confrontation or whether the individuals involved knew each other prior to the incident. The investigation remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.
