Despite the best efforts of the healthcare staff, Paul remained in a coma and tragically suffered severe, irreversible brain damage due to a prolonged lack of oxygen during the incident. After careful consultation with doctors, and faced with the heartbreaking reality that recovery was entirely impossible, his loved ones had to make the agonizing decision to remove life support.
In his final days, Paul was surrounded by a wall of absolute love.
