Guadalupe Rivera Obituary, Virginia Beach, VA Tragic Off-Road Crash Death: Minor Injuries Reported for Surviving Cadillac and Honda SUV Drivers

The close-knit landscaping community, local neighborhood networks, and cross-municipal families of Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia, are draped in a heavy blanket of profound sorrow and intense heartbreak following the tragic passing of Guadalupe Rivera. The exceptional 60-year-old resident and highly respected supervisor for Lawnmasters of Virginia lost his life unexpectedly on Friday morning, May 29, 2026, following a devastating high-speed car crash along Johnstown Road. The catastrophic roadside collision has left his loving siblings, eight children, 33 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and an extensive network of lifelong friends completely shattered as they collectively navigate an immeasurable physical and emotional void. Guadalupe was a remarkably hardworking, kind, and genuine family man whose extraordinary 15-year career in Hampton Roads left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

According to official emergency response updates from local police investigators, the horrifying chain-reaction incident occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. near the Kingsbridge Apartments complex. A black Cadillac sedan, driven at an excessively high rate of speed by 19-year-old Synclair Tyrone Mayes, was traveling southbound when it collided violently with a red Honda SUV turning from Britwell Drive. The extreme force of the initial impact caused the Cadillac to spin entirely out of control, careening off the roadway and onto the sidewalk where Guadalupe was diligently maintaining the lawn. He sustained severe, unsurvivable blunt force injuries and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an intensive review of the physical evidence, authorities officially arrested and charged Mayes with involuntary manslaughter. As the legal system transitions into formal prosecution, a localized community fundraising effort has been launched to assist the brokenhearted Rivera family with final expenses.
