The close-knit community of Iola, Kansas, is enduring a period of profound heartbreak following the tragic passing of Mavis LeAnn Kline, who left this world on May 30, 2026, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. At just two years old, her time on earth was measured in fleeting moments, yet her brief life was completely overflowing with unconditional love, boundless laughter, and an infectious spirit that left a permanent imprint on the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Born on March 15, 2024, in Chanute, Kansas, Mavis was the treasured daughter of Tim and Ciara Kline. She was a vibrant firecracker who brought immense joy to her home, serving as her mother’s dedicated shadow and keeping her father completely wrapped around her little finger. Mavis spent her days surrounded by her protective older brothers—Gabe, Harrison, Jameson, and Nathaniel—who served as her favorite playmates. She was a delightful “wild child” who loved getting dirty outside, yet she would gleefully switch to twirling in pretty dresses. Her daily morning routine was simple and full of personality: wake up, watch her favorite character Bluey, enjoy a juice box, and enthusiastically ask for a ride in her dad’s truck.
Mavis was also a fixture at her local church, where she loved attending choir practices, coloring quietly while her mother sang, and sneaking her mother’s rosary whenever she had the chance.
A Rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Humboldt, Kansas, followed by a visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, with burial at Highland Cemetery in Iola. Memorials may be directed to Feuerborn Family Funeral Service to assist the family.
