The close-knit community of Bonnyville, Alberta, is draped in a heavy blanket of profound sorrow and intense heartbreak following the sudden passing of Brandon James Paskaluk, a remarkably bright 17-year-old young man who lost his life unexpectedly on Friday, May 29, 2026. His sudden and premature departure has left his father, Clayton Paskaluk, his mother, Carissa Paskaluk, his siblings, and an extensive network of extended family members completely shattered as they collectively navigate an immeasurable void. Brandon was an exceptionally kind, respectful, and purposeful soul whose genuine spirit brought immense joy and strength to those around him.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Brandon was recognized across the region as a young man of remarkable character, strong determination, and compassion. He approached life with a clear sense of purpose and worked tirelessly toward his personal goals. Above all else, Brandon cherished his family and fiercely valued the quiet moments spent with those closest to him. He leaves behind a legacy of deep loyalty, surviving through his parents, his brothers Dean, Nathan, and Luke, his sister Isabella, and his grandfather Michael. He is now peacefully reunited with his late paternal grandmother, Sylvia Paskaluk.

To honor Brandon’s deep love for animals, his family has requested that memorial donations be directed to the Lakeland Humane Society in Cold Lake, Alberta. Loved ones and community members will gather to celebrate his vibrant life during a formal funeral service scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Genmec ACL Hall, with Pastor Ron Hewitt officiating. Official cremation arrangements will follow the service as the family transitions into a private period of mourning.
