The heartbreaking incident occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, May 31, 2026, near Lake Wales. According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, emergency dispatchers received a frantic distress call around 2:34 a.m. regarding a serious crash deep within the remote property of the River Ranch Hunt Club on County Road 630. Because the collision site was located miles away from the main roadway, specialized members of the Sheriff’s Office Agriculture Unit had to quickly assist by transporting paramedics directly to the rugged terrain.
