The Texas community is mourning the tragic loss of 26-year-old Adam Lee Reyna of Mission, who was killed in a devastating crash in Taylor County on Tuesday evening. The fatal collision involved a semi-truck and resulted in a fire that claimed Reyna’s life at the scene.
According to reports, the crash occurred on County Road 504 when a semi-truck driven by 68-year-old Miguel Angel Casanova was traveling westbound and failed to yield at a stop sign. Authorities say the truck struck Reyna’s pickup vehicle, causing a violent impact.
The force of the collision caused Reyna’s truck to burst into flames and become fully engulfed. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but due to the intensity of the fire, Reyna could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials have since charged Casanova with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the crash. The charge reflects allegations that impairment may have played a role in the failure to yield and the resulting fatal incident.
The tragic accident has left family members, friends, and the wider community grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of a young life. Reyna is being remembered as someone with a future full of promise, taken far too soon in a devastating and preventable event.
