The community is mourning following the tragic death of Howard Douglas Winstead, a beloved musician who was killed in a devastating crash on Interstate 95 near Dunn, North Carolina, early Saturday morning.
According to authorities, the fatal accident occurred on the northbound side of I-95 in Harnett County just before Exit 73 near Dunn. Reports indicate that Howard Douglas Winstead was driving a 2019 Chrysler van when it collided with the rear of a Peterbilt tractor-trailer gasoline tanker shortly before 2:06 a.m.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and found Winstead trapped inside the vehicle. Despite efforts by rescue crews to save him, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The tragic crash has left the local community in shock and mourning.
