ST. LOUIS, MO — The Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis is mourning the tragic loss of 21-year-old Lamarr Box, who died following a shooting incident Friday evening. The heartbreaking event has left family, friends, and the community in profound grief as they try to come to terms with the sudden and violent loss of a young life.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the area near South 7th Street and Russell Boulevard around 6 p.m., where a crashed Audi struck by gunfire was discovered. Lamarr Box was found inside the vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities reported that two other men were also shot in what is believed to be a related incident. A 26-year-old man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, while a 29-year-old man was transported to a separate hospital and is also in stable condition.
Eyewitnesses at the scene described a chaotic situation, with police tape surrounding the Phillips 66 gas station parking lot and evidence being processed from a nearby crashed vehicle. Preliminary investigations indicate that an altercation involving multiple individuals escalated, resulting in gunfire both inside the gas station and in the parking lot.
