Council Bluffs, IA — The Council Bluffs community is mourning the tragic death of 39-year-old Alex Foster Jr. of Omaha, who lost his life in a devastating Interstate 29 crash on Tuesday afternoon. First responders described the scene as challenging and dangerous, as the vehicle had gone airborne into Pony Creek, coming to rest between the northbound and southbound bridges.

According to authorities, the vehicle left its lane just after 1:30 p.m. near mile marker 45, crossed into southbound traffic, and struck a bridge abutment with such force that it continued off the embankment and tumbled into the creek. Emergency crews found Alex Foster Jr. at the scene and pronounced him dead. No other vehicles or injuries were reported.

“This is a heartbreaking loss for our community,” said Council Bluffs Police Chief [Name]. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Alex Foster Jr. as they navigate this unimaginable tragedy.”
