What should have been an ordinary evening in Jackson Hamlet turned into a scene of heartbreak and loss, as authorities confirmed the deaths of two men in a double shooting that has left families and a community searching for answers.
Antonio Jamal Brown, 41, of Raeford, and Jamar Brooks Hailey, 43, of Aberdeen, were identified as the victims. Both men lost their lives Sunday evening at a home along the 100 block of Gaines Street, a place that, until then, had seen nothing out of the ordinary.
