Community Pays Tribute to Nahom Medhanie After Euston Shooting

Tributes are pouring in for 26‑year‑old Nahom Medhanie, whose life was cut tragically short in a shooting near Euston station that has left friends, family and the local community in shock.

According to the Metropolitan Police, CCTV footage shows Nahom sitting in a white Nissan Juke on Chalton Street at about 22:30 BST on Saturday when he was shot several times. The suspect, described only as arriving and leaving on a bicycle, has not yet been arrested, and inquiries are ongoing.

In the hours since his death was confirmed, emotional tributes have spread across social media and within Nahom’s community. His family issued a heartfelt statement remembering him as more than just a loved one — but someone whose presence lit up every room he entered. “Nahom was more than a son and a brother to us,” they said. “Since his passing, these have been the hardest days of our lives.”

Loved ones described Nahom as funny, honest and warm‑hearted — someone who brought joy to gatherings, made others laugh and cared deeply about the people around him. “He had this way of making everyone feel comfortable,” said one friend. “The world feels emptier without his smile.”
