Fiery Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Route 91 Kills One

Anaheim, CA – Tragedy struck early Saturday morning when a fiery multi-vehicle crash on State Route 91 claimed the life of one person and left the community reeling. The collision occurred around 5:21 a.m. on the eastbound lanes just west of State Route 241, involving a white work truck, a box truck, and at least one additional vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash quickly escalated as one of the vehicles ignited, flames engulfing it and blocking multiple FasTrak and mainline lanes. Emergency crews on the scene reported at least one propane tank explosion, with other tanks still posing a dangerous risk, complicating rescue and containment efforts. First responders worked urgently to extinguish the fire, secure hazardous materials, and assist anyone affected by the collision.

Tragically, at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released information regarding additional injuries, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. A full freeway closure was implemented to allow crews to safely manage the scene, followed by a hard closure of eastbound lanes. Limited lanes reopened later in the morning, but the crash caused widespread traffic delays, highlighting the vulnerability of early-morning commuters to unexpected hazards.
