Tragic Car Accident Claims Life of Westmont Volleyball Recruit’s Father

Westmont, CA – The Westmont College volleyball community is mourning a devastating loss. Sammy Estervig, a promising recruit, and her father, Lance Estervig, were involved in a tragic car accident while returning home from the Red Rock Rave volleyball tournament this past weekend. Lance tragically passed away in the crash, and Sammy, who sustained serious injuries, is currently fighting for her life in the ICU.

In a heartbreaking photo from the tournament, Lance can be seen in the background, proudly supporting his daughter as she played. The Estervig family has been a source of strength and inspiration within the volleyball community, and the news of this tragedy has sent shockwaves through the team, coaches, and supporters.
