Midway, GA – A quiet early Sunday morning was shattered by gunfire in Liberty County, leaving four teenagers injured and a community searching for answers. The shooting occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. on March 22, 2026, at an establishment located in the 400 block of Bill Carter Road in Midway.
According to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of shots fired and discovered multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The injured teens, ranging in age from 16 to 17, were quickly transported to nearby hospitals, including Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville and Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
Authorities reported that three of the teens sustained non-life-threatening injuries, with wounds to areas such as the shoulder and back. However, one teen remains in critical condition after being shot in the chest, a detail that has deeply concerned both families and the broader community.
Adding to the mystery, investigators found a vehicle riddled with bullet holes in the parking lot of Liberty Regional Medical Center.
