It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of James D’Amico, who left this world peacefully this morning in hospice care in Florida. After courageously battling multiple health challenges over the past nine months, James passed surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and cherished memories.
James lived a remarkable life, embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm and heart. Whether teaching in the classroom or leading as a school administrator at Taft Grade School, he poured himself into his work and the lives of his students. Many of his former students continue to stay connected with him on social media, a testament to the lasting impact he made on so many young lives.
Family was James’ greatest joy. Watching his granddaughter grow into an incredible young woman brought him immense pride and happiness. His happiest moments were spent at his cabin in Wisconsin, where he could be on the water with his loved ones, fishing—but never in it—sharing laughter, stories, and quiet moments that became lifelong memories.
Adventure was a part of James’ spirit. He loved riding his Harley, embracing the open road with the same passion and freedom he applied to life itself. Nothing was too small for his curiosity and enthusiasm—there wasn’t a fish he wouldn’t try to catch or a moment he wouldn’t fully live.
Though James D’Amico has passed from this world, his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His students, family, and friends carry his warmth, humor, and generosity forward. Rest in peace, Daddy. You are forever loved, forever remembered, and now reunited with Amy.
