In a chilling case of domestic violence, a woman in Hanover, Pennsylvania, suffered horrific injuries after her husband allegedly shoved her down a flight of stairs during a heated argument over a misplaced hoodie. What doctors discovered upon examination was both shocking and heartbreaking: a hair clip had been embedded in her skull, a brutal reminder of the violent force behind the fall.
The incident occurred on the evening of January 19, 2026, when 38-year-old Andre Vincent McAfee and his wife got into a heated dispute about where her hoodie had been left. What seemed like an insignificant argument escalated rapidly. According to McAfee’s account, his wife tripped over shoes on the landing, but his stepson’s version of events told a far darker story. The child called 911, terrified, reporting that his mother was unconscious at the bottom of the stairs and his stepfather had pushed her.
Paramedics rushed to the scene, finding the woman with a probable fractured skull and severe brain bleeding. The hair clip was a harrowing symbol of the violence that took place—embedded in her skull from the force of the fall. McAfee’s words to police, stating that his wife “shouldn’t have gotten in his way,” only deepened the suspicion surrounding his role in the incident.
McAfee was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault, along with misdemeanor simple assault and reckless endangerment. After posting bail, he was released from York County Jail, but the emotional and physical toll on the victim remains severe. Our thoughts are with the woman as she fights to recover from injuries no one should have to endure, especially over something so trivial.
