The Macon, Georgia community is mourning the tragic loss of 28-year-old Ayana Smith, who died following a shooting at a home on Fulton Street in East Macon. Her two-year-old daughter was also injured in the incident and transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her arm. Authorities reported that the shooting occurred on February 10, when emergency responders were called to the residence after reports of gunfire. On April 21, a Bibb County Grand Jury indicted Brooks on multiple serious charges, including felony murder, malice murder, two counts of aggravated assault, cruelty to children in the first degree, and four counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
