A Community’s Embrace in Times of Tragedy: Supporting the Pregenzer Family

Our school has always been more than just a place for lessons. It’s a community built on connection, care, and showing up for each other when it matters most. Today, one of our own needs us in a way we could never have imagined.

On January 12, the Pregenzer family’s world was turned upside down. Tania, a devoted mother, suddenly lost her husband, Gerard, to cardiac arrest at the young age of 47. In one heart-wrenching moment, their family’s foundation was shaken. Gerard was not just a husband, but a loving father and provider, leaving behind two young boys, Mario (9) and Dino (10), who now face a future without the daily presence of their dad.

As a community, we cannot undo this unimaginable loss, but we can ease some of the burden. Tania is now navigating the heartbreaking task of holding it all together for her children while grappling with her own grief. Unfortunately, grief doesn’t stop the bills or responsibilities of everyday life. This is where we come in.

We’ve set up a GoFundMe to provide the Pregenzer family with some stability—so that Tania can focus on her boys and begin to heal without the weight of immediate financial stress. No contribution is too small, and if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this message can make a world of difference.

Let’s show Mario and Dino that even in their darkest hours, they are not alone. Their father’s love still lives on in the community that surrounds them, and together, we can offer the support, love, and strength they need to get through this.
