Just after 11:30 p.m., a heated argument inside a home escalated into an unimaginable tragedy that shattered a family and stunned the surrounding community. What began as a domestic dispute quickly turned deadly when gunfire erupted, leaving two young sisters dead and another teen fighting to survive.

The victims were identified as 20-year-old Kaliyah Houston and her 16-year-old sister, both of whom were fatally shot during the violent outburst. A 17-year-old male was also struck by gunfire but managed to escape the residence and survive his injuries. His condition has not been publicly detailed, but authorities confirmed he is expected to recover.

Police say the alleged shooter is a 19-year-old man who had been living in the apartment at the time of the incident. Investigators believe the violence unfolded rapidly, leaving little chance for anyone inside to intervene or escape once shots were fired.

Adding to the horror, several children were inside the home, including an infant. While none of the children were physically harmed, authorities emphasized how dangerously close they were to the violence, calling the situation “deeply disturbing” and “tragically preventable.”

Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene, triggering an intensive search by law enforcement. Hours later, he was located and arrested without incident. He now faces capital murder charges for the deaths of the two sisters, as well as attempted murder charges related to the surviving teen.
