David Joseph Williams, 43, of Vermilion, left an indelible mark on his community and family before passing tragically on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at MetroHealth Medical Center. Born September 20, 1982, in Cleveland, Ohio, David made Vermilion his home for the past 15 years, carrying with him a deep commitment to his craft and his loved ones.
David’s career journey began with Goodyear Tire, but it was behind the wheel of a tow truck that he truly found his calling. For 13 years, he dedicated himself to L&M Towing, earning admiration for his skill, reliability, and unwavering work ethic. Those who knew him say he didn’t just tow vehicles—he cared for every job as if it were his own.
Outside of work, David’s passions mirrored his zest for life. A lover of automobiles, he delighted in restoring classic cars and sharing the joy of car shows with friends and family. Yet, nothing brought him more happiness than his daughters and granddaughter. His devotion to his family was evident in every moment he spent with them, and his love for his granddaughter Cecelia was limitless.
David is survived by his daughter, Julia (Tyler Brady) Williams; granddaughter Cecelia Brady; son-in-law Jacob Pickett; several cousins; and Lester Mayer, who was like a father to him. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paige Marie Williams; his parents, Larry and Maureen Williams; and his brother, Bert Williams.
A procession honoring David’s life will gather at Riddle Funeral Home on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., including a special tribute past L&M Towing. A Celebration of Life will follow at American Legion Post #397, where friends, family, and tow trucks alike can share memories. Memorial contributions may be made to Riddle Funeral Home, with additional funds supporting Cecelia’s college future.
