Tragic Shooting in Reform Leaves Young Woman Dead

A 26-year-old woman was fatally shot on her street early Sunday morning, shocking the small Reform community. Erika Latavia Latham never made it out of the 200 block of Water Avenue, where police found her suffering from gunshot wounds after responding to reports of gunfire around 1 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving family, friends, and neighbors devastated.

By the next afternoon, authorities had arrested 33-year-old Deandre Brandell Langhorne of Uniontown. He was booked into the Perry County Jail on a manslaughter charge. While the arrest came quickly, local officials and the State Bureau of Investigation—who are leading the case alongside Reform police—have released little information about the motive behind the shooting. The reason for this sudden act of violence remains unclear, leaving the community grappling with grief and unanswered questions.

Friends and family of Erika describe her as a bright, kindhearted woman whose presence could light up any room. Her untimely death has left a void in the lives of those who loved her, and many are struggling to process the sudden and tragic loss.

Law enforcement continues to investigate, processing evidence and piecing together the events of that fateful night. While the case progresses, Erika’s loved ones are left with heartbreak and the challenge of finding closure without knowing why her life was cut short.
