Tragic Double Shooting in Chicago: 75-Year-Old Confesses to Killing Two Women

A deadly confrontation in Chicago’s Washington Heights neighborhood ended in tragedy late Saturday night when 75-year-old William Wallace Jr. allegedly shot and killed two women inside a home, then called 911 to confess. Authorities say the victims were 68-year-old Phyllis Goolsby, Wallace’s girlfriend, and 71-year-old Tuanna J. Thomas, who also lived in the residence.

According to police reports, officers responded to the South Peoria Street home after receiving Wallace’s 911 call. Upon arrival, Wallace reportedly admitted to the shootings and indicated that the handgun used was upstairs. Inside the home, officers found Goolsby on the second floor with gunshot wounds to her chest. Thomas was discovered on the first floor, suffering gunshot injuries to her back and torso. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene, and shell casings were scattered throughout the home.

Wallace was immediately taken into custody, and the handgun used in the incident was recovered. Investigators have confirmed that Goolsby had been in a romantic relationship with Wallace, but the exact motive behind the argument that led to the fatal shootings is still under investigation. Police are piecing together the events leading up to the tragedy, seeking to understand how a domestic dispute escalated into such violence.

Neighbors expressed shock and sadness over the incident, describing the quiet neighborhood as being shaken by the sudden loss of two community members. Family, friends, and residents are left grappling with grief and questions, as authorities continue their investigation.

This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of how quickly disagreements can escalate, leaving devastating consequences in their wake. Wallace’s confession has brought immediate attention to the case, but for Goolsby and Thomas’s loved ones, the loss is permanent. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward as the investigation continues.
