Orange County, FL — In the early hours of August 9, 2025, tragedy struck the Davis family once again. Latoysia Denisha Davis, 34, a devoted mother of 10, was found shot to death in the 700 block of 20th Street in Holden Heights. Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an aggravated battery around 2:00 a.m. and discovered Latoysia suffering from obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Neighbors reported hearing a single gunshot shortly before authorities arrived.
Latoysia, known affectionately as “Tory,” leaves behind ten children, ranging in age from 19 to elementary school age. For the family, this loss is painfully familiar. Latoysia’s mother was murdered in 2003, a case that remains unsolved more than two decades later. Now, the family fears that Latoysia’s case could follow the same tragic path.
Family members describe Latoysia as a vibrant presence — tough, loud, funny, and fiercely loving. Her sister Sasha Thompson recounted rushing to the scene after receiving the devastating call: “I just didn’t know how tragic it was, but once I got here, that hope was kind of lost.” Her sister Natisha Varela remembers her as a “sour patch” — full of life but fiercely devoted to her children and family above all else.
As of March 2026, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not publicly identified a motive or suspects. The Davis family continues to wait for answers, grieving while hoping justice will come.
