Tragic Motorcycle Crash in Fayetteville Claims Life of Daniel Vanherpen


Fayetteville, NC – The community is mourning after a fatal motorcycle crash occurred Wednesday night, March 11, 2026, at the intersection of King Road and Windfall Lane. Fayetteville Police have released new details about the devastating incident that claimed the life of 38-year-old Daniel Zachery Vanherpen of Hope Mills.

Investigators report that Vanherpen was riding his 2009 Yamaha motorcycle when it collided with a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 62-year-old Dale Bradley White of Fayetteville. According to police, the pickup truck turned left into the path of the motorcycle, leading to the catastrophic crash. Emergency responders transported Vanherpen to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Dale White has been booked and faces charges of Unsafe Movement Causing Serious Injury to a Motorcyclist and Misdemeanor Death by Motor Vehicle. He is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a secured bond of $275,000.
