Remembering Thomas Albert Martin Sr.: A Life of Dedication, Humor, and Family Love

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Albert Martin Sr., 68, of Rockford, Illinois, who peacefully left this world on March 10, 2026. Beloved by many, Thomas will be deeply missed by all who knew him and cherished the warmth, humor, and love he shared.

Born on July 26, 1957, in Guttenberg, Iowa, to Gerald and Ellen Martin, Thomas spent decades building a life rooted in hard work and dedication. He worked for over 30 years as a laborer at Coulee Region Enterprise in Rockland, Wisconsin, where his colleagues admired his strong work ethic and commitment to every task. Thomas took pride not only in his work but also in the life he built for his family, always ensuring that those he loved were cared for.

In 2019, Thomas began facing the challenges of Alzheimerโ€™s dementia, a difficult journey he endured with courage and the unwavering support of his family and friends. Despite this struggle, he remained the same warm and humorous man loved by those around him.

Thomas loved the outdoors, especially fishing and huntingโ€”though he jokingly never caught a deerโ€”and he found joy in cheering for his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. He was known for his sense of humor, captivating storytelling, and ability to make ordinary moments feel extraordinary. Above all, Thomas valued family time and treasured every moment spent with those closest to him.
