18-Year-Old Charged with Murder After Shooting Man Accused of Abusing a Child

Memphis, Tennessee — A shocking case has left the community and the internet in debate after the death of Noe Santillan Rincon. Police discovered Rincon’s body in the roadway in the Willowview area just before 2:00 a.m. on February 26, 2026. The 18-year-old suspect, Alishon Torres, has been charged with murder after investigators say she shot him approximately 14 times.

Court records reveal a harrowing backstory. Weeks before the shooting, a 5-year-old girl reported that Rincon had inappropriately touched her. According to police, Torres later confronted Rincon in the Willowview area and asked to borrow his phone. During this confrontation, investigators say Torres shot Rincon multiple times inside a van.

After the shooting, Torres allegedly drove the vehicle to an abandoned house and attempted to repaint it before abandoning it at an apartment complex. During her arrest, police recovered a firearm from her purse, which she admitted had been used in the shooting. Authorities also say she disposed of a second gun afterward.

The case has sparked intense public debate. Some online voices argue that taking the law into one’s own hands is never justified, while others express understanding of Torres’ actions given the alleged sexual abuse of a young child.

Police continue to investigate the incident and the circumstances surrounding Rincon’s last movements. Torres is now facing a murder charge, and prosecutors have not ruled out additional charges as evidence emerges.

The tragedy has left families and neighbors shaken, highlighting the complicated and emotional responses when alleged abuse intersects with vigilantism. As the legal process unfolds, the Memphis community grapples with grief, outrage, and difficult questions about justice, accountability, and the law.
