College Station Honors Brandy Norris for Transforming Local Policing


The city of College Station, Texas is recognizing the extraordinary career and contributions of Brandy Norris, whose decades of service with the College Station Police Department helped shape the department into a stronger, more community-focused force. At 52, Norris is widely respected for her pioneering work in specialized law enforcement operations, including SWAT coordination, crisis negotiations, and the development of innovative public safety programs.

Brandy Norris began her career with the College Station Police Department in June 1997. Starting in uniformed patrol, she quickly demonstrated a sharp investigative mind and a natural ability to lead. Her early years also included work in criminal investigations, where she developed a reputation for being both meticulous and compassionate while handling complex cases. Those qualities soon set her apart as an officer capable of guiding others and solving difficult challenges.

Her dedication and professionalism led to a steady rise through the departmentโ€™s ranks. In 2005, Norris was promoted to Sergeant, a role that placed her in charge of supervising officers and strengthening field operations. Four years later, in 2009, she advanced to Lieutenant, further expanding her responsibilities and leadership role within the agency.
