20-Year-Old Shot While Driving, Crashes into Parked Cars in Back of the Yards


A 20-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot while driving in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood Wednesday night, authorities reported. The violent incident occurred just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of 50th Street and May Street.

According to police, the victim was driving eastbound on 50th Street when someone opened fire in his direction. The man was struck in the back, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and crash into two parked cars. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene and transported him to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
