Late-Night Blaze Erupts on Winthrop Drive, DeKalb County Firefighters Respond


A frightening fire erupted just after 11 p.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 1800 block of Winthrop Drive, leaving neighbors startled and prompting a swift response from DeKalb County Fire Rescue. Residents reported seeing thick smoke and bright flames engulfing the house, drawing a crowd of concerned neighbors and passersby.

According to DeKalb County Fire Rescue officials, emergency crews arrived on the scene within minutes of the call.
