TROY, Kan. — The Troy community is reeling from the heartbreaking loss of 32-year-old Dustin B. Saunders, who was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night in Atchison County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the tragic incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Kansas Highway 7 near 318th Street.
Authorities report that Dustin was driving a 2001 Ford F-150 northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle left the roadway. The pickup struck a tree, spun, and ultimately came to rest in the east ditch along K-7. Dustin was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved, and investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
