Greece, NY — A single, horrifying moment at a red light has resulted in the tragic deaths of three people and left a community shattered. On the afternoon of January 17, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a collision occurred at the intersection of West Ridge Road and Elmgrove Road in Greece, New York.
Craig Cavallaro, 42, of Parma, was driving westbound when he smashed into a vehicle that was stopped at the red light, driven by Riesen Kimmerly, a 25-year-old from Hamlin. Kimmerly was simply waiting at the light, likely going about her day when the crash occurred. Tragically, Cavallaro died on the spot, and both Kimmerly and her passenger, Tyler Underwood, 28, also of Hamlin, were rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Tyler Underwood succumbed to his injuries within days, and now, tragically, Riesen Kimmerly has also passed away. What began as an ordinary Friday afternoon, filled with the promise of lunch and weekend plans, has turned into a nightmare for three families, all of whom are now left to mourn the lives lost in an instant.
Kimmerly, remembered for her warmth and bright future, and Underwood, who had so much life left to live, are gone—victims of a senseless tragedy. Three families are planning funerals instead of futures, all because of a brief moment at a red light
