Rancho Cucamonga Two-Car Crash on I-10 Sends One to Hospital

Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Early Monday morning, a two-vehicle collision on the 10 Freeway near Milliken Avenue left one person hospitalized, authorities reported. The crash occurred around 2:55 a.m., though the circumstances leading to the accident remain under investigation by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist those involved. One person sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The identities of the drivers and further details about the cause of the collision have not yet been released, as CHP continues its investigation.

The incident highlights ongoing traffic safety concerns in San Bernardino County, which recorded roughly 14,615 people injured or killed in vehicle collisions in 2024—a slight decline from previous years. Despite the decrease, the county maintains a high fatality rate of 17.22 deaths per 100,000 residents, more than double that of larger Southern California counties such as Los Angeles and San Diego. This elevated per-capita risk underscores the dangers for drivers in less densely populated areas.

Traffic trends show that while pedestrian injuries and fatalities have declined slightly over the past two years, cyclist injuries have reached a 10-year high, with cyclists and pedestrians accounting for 6% of all collisions from 2022 to 2024. Alcohol-related crashes, pedestrian incidents, and total fatal collisions have historically ranked high in the county, further emphasizing the need for vigilance on the roads.

San Bernardino County’s complex traffic environment—including heavily traveled interstates I-10, I-15, and I-215, as well as mountainous terrain and extreme weather conditions—makes early-morning and high-speed travel particularly risky. Authorities continue to urge motorists to drive safely, obey traffic laws, and remain alert, especially during low-light hours and adverse conditions.
