The Monroe community is grieving after a tragic early‑morning shooting claimed the life of a young mother and left another person wounded. Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, officers with the Monroe Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 100 block of G.W. Carver Drive, where they discovered a woman suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.

The victim has been identified by family and in sympathy posts as Jadah Aeriona, a devoted mother of one and a soon‑to‑be mother of two. Jadah was pronounced dead at the scene. A man who was also shot was transported to a local hospital for treatment; his condition has not been released and police have not officially confirmed identities.

Social media tributes poured in soon after news spread, painting a portrait of a young woman full of promise and love. Jadah was remembered as a Kennesaw State University student preparing to graduate this spring—a milestone she was eagerly looking forward to.
