Tragic Vermont Crash Claims Two Lives: Driver Under Investigation

Two New York residents, Kendall Lamay, 38, and Jacob Rivers, 41, lost their lives in a devastating three-vehicle crash on Roosevelt Highway and Coon Hill Road in Colchester, Vermont, on January 23. The collision, which occurred around 6 p.m., has left the community in shock and raised serious questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to authorities, a northbound vehicle struck Lamayโ€™s southbound car, sending it into the opposite lanes of traffic where it collided with another vehicle. Lamay and Rivers were both rushed to the University of Vermont Medical Center, but tragically, they were pronounced dead upon arrival.

The crash involved three drivers: Mark Pomerantz, 39, of St. Albans, and Pamela Dewey, 57, of Essex Junction, both of whom were operating northbound vehicles. Police believe Pomerantz may have crossed the centerline, causing the head-on collision. While initial reports suggest Pomerantzโ€™s actions were a contributing factor, no formal charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
