Michael Richard Libs Obituary, Floyds Knobs, IN Sudden Fatal Medical Disturbance Death: Shock and Sorrow Fill Extended Southern Indiana Community Circles

The close-knit neighborhood networks, regional trade associations, and dedicated parish circles of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, and the broader southern Indiana community are draped in a heavy blanket of profound sorrow and intense heartbreak following the tragic passing of Michael Richard Libs. The exceptional 54-year-old independent business owner, devoted family provider, and faithful church pillar lost his life unexpectedly in early June 2026 following a sudden, devastating medical event. The catastrophic loss of a deeply cherished anchor has left his loving family members, corporate enterprise colleagues, and an extensive network of lifelong friends completely shattered as they collectively navigate an immeasurable physical and emotional void. Michael was a remarkably bright, principled, and genuine individual whose extraordinary leadership, infectious warmth, and true servant’s heart left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

As the respected owner and operator of RA Libs, Michael built a stellar professional reputation defined by absolute integrity, patience, and a steadfast refusal to ever waver on core principles. He possessed a rare, vibrant personality that made him the natural life of any gathering, earning a reputation as the dependable friend who never met a stranger. Deeply rooted in his traditional Roman Catholic faith, he lived his daily life as an expression of kindness, compassion, and community outreach. Above all, Michael was entirely consumed by love for his family, acting as the unshakeable supporter, protector, and best friend to his wife, April Libs, and his children, Haley, Lexie, and Logan.

According to official administrative updates from his parents, Betty and Dick Libs, a solemn Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Following the liturgy, an intimate family committal will take place, while friends gather for food and fellowship at Assumption Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested for Norton Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
