The adventurous outdoor communities of Baraboo, Wisconsin, and Duluth, Minnesota, are draped in a heavy blanket of profound sorrow and intense heartbreak following the tragic passing of Audrie Lorraine Pelosi, a remarkably vibrant 30-year-old guide who lost her life to a climbing accident on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The catastrophic fall occurred on a rugged rock face in southwestern Wisconsin, leaving her devoted husband, Jimmy “The Fox” Robinson, her parents, Heather Schweiger and Paul Pelosi, and her beloved three-legged pet, Chili Dog, completely shattered. Audrie was a deeply respected mentor whose extraordinary kindness, sharp wit, and fierce passion for nature left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Born and raised near the cold shores of Lake Superior, Audrie fell in love with rugged landscapes at a young age, actively pursuing snowboarding, hiking, cycling, and rock climbing. Her successful professional career perfectly mirrored her personal passions, marked by impactful roles at Ski Hut, Viking Ski Shop, Wildside Action Sports, and the Apex Adventure Alliance. Through her dedicated instruction, she inspired countless individuals to build confidence in the wilderness. On February 22, 2023, she married her soulmate, Jimmy, atop Michigan’s Mount Bohemia in a beautiful winter ceremony that celebrated their shared love for mountain sports.
Tragically, a sudden equipment or environmental hazard during a technical ascent led to the fatal trauma that cut her beautiful life short. As her grieving relatives, ten cherished nieces and nephews, and climbing partners prepare for a celebration of life service, they find solace in holding tightly to her legacy of boundless generosity and welcoming warmth. Her close friends vow to continue exploring the trails she loved so dearly in her honor.
