A Life Full of Laughter, Love, and Sports


It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert J. Firestone, who entered into eternal rest on March 10, 2026, at the age of 53. Born on August 4, 1972, Robert was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees, passions he shared joyfully with family and friends. His infectious laughter and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Robert is survived by his loving family, including his mother, Arlene Theresa (Matturro) Firestone; his father, Robert Thomas Firestone; his brother, Michael Firestone, and Michaelโ€™s wife Traci; his aunt Carol and uncle Jack; his niece Madison; his nephew Chase; and cousins Bonnie and Erin, along with many other beloved cousins. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness and humor.

Professionally, Robert dedicated his career to serving his community, working with the City of Linden Public Works Department from 1998 until his retirement in 2024. His work ethic, integrity, and friendly demeanor made him a respected and cherished colleague.

A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Robertโ€™s life will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 East Blancke Street, Linden, NJ 07036. Following the service, interment will take place at St. Gertrudeโ€™s Cemetery in Colonia, NJ. Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Robertโ€™s life, sharing memories, laughter, and love.
