Sutton-in-Ashfield is mourning the heartbreaking death of seven-year-old Logan Parker following a fatal collision on the A38 Kings Mill Road East, near Kingfisher Way, on Tuesday, March 10, at approximately 8:26 p.m. Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a car striking the young boy, but sadly, Logan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Logan, a beloved local child, leaves behind a grieving family who are being supported by specially trained officers during this devastating time. The driver involved in the collision stopped at the scene and is fully cooperating with investigators. The A38 was temporarily closed in both directions to allow emergency services and collision investigators to carry out their work safely.
Paying tribute to her son, Loganโs mother shared a heartfelt statement: โIn memory of a boy who will remain seven forever. Always unconditionally loved and cherished, you will never, ever be forgotten. You were the most beautiful, happy, and mischievous boy โ full of love, light, and adventure. Your cheeky grin, giggles, dancing, and singing will forever echo through my soul. We will miss you so much. Rest, my super angel. Your memory will live on forever. Detective Inspector Jamie Moore of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit emphasized the gravity of the incident: โThis is a devastating incident, and our thoughts are with Loganโs family, friends, and loved ones. We are investigating the circumstances and ask that the familyโs privacy is respected at this difficult time. We appeal for any witnesses to come forward, including anyone with dashcam footage, as this could be vital to our investigation.
