The community of Chrisman, Illinois, is heartbroken following the passing of 15-year-old Bentley Kahne Wolfe. Bentley passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, March 6, 2026, at OSF Healthcare St. Francis Medical Center, surrounded by the family who loved him beyond measure. Born in 2010, Bentley was a young man who embodied the spirit of rural Illinoisโfull of life, grit, and a deep love for the land.
A sophomore at Chrisman High School, Bentley was a familiar and energetic presence in the halls and on the field. Whether he was competing on the basketball court, playing baseball, or participating in the Chrisman FFA, he approached everything with passion. He felt most at home outdoors, finding joy in tractors, trucks, and the world of farming. Between riding four-wheelers and spending time with his close-knit group of friends and his girlfriend, Randi, Bentley lived a life that was quintessential “country boy.”
Bentley leaves behind a large and devoted family, including his parents, Jacob (Josey) Wolfe and Samantha (Trent) Simpson, and his seven siblings. His loss is felt deeply by his grandparents, great-grandparents, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Kristopher Wolfe, and his maternal great-grandparents.
A celebration of Bentleyโs vibrant life will take place at 12 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Chrisman High School gymnasium. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 12 PM at the school prior to the service. Bentley will be laid to rest at Franklin Cemetery
