Arrest Made in Pine Club Apartments Homicide: Kimothy Bessard in Custody


Beaumont, Texas authorities have made a significant development in the investigation of a March 1, 2026 homicide at the Pine Club Apartments. Detectives with the Beaumont Police Department have obtained a murder warrant for 24-year-old Kimothy Bessard in connection with the death of Chrishiann Marks.

On Sunday, March 1, at approximately 11:37 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to 5015 Pine Street following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Marks deceased inside an apartment, a tragic scene that shook the local community. Investigators quickly determined that the shooting was a targeted attack stemming from a prior disagreement involving the apartmentโ€™s occupants.

During the investigation, detectives interviewed Bessard, who was later taken into custody on an unrelated aggravated assault warrant. As detectives continued gathering evidence and piecing together the events surrounding Marksโ€™ death, sufficient grounds were found to secure a murder warrant for Bessard, who is now being held at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.

Authorities emphasize that the investigation is still active, and additional arrests may be forthcoming as more information comes to light.
