Remembering Dale Rantz-Lemanski Jr.: A Life of Family, Faith, and the Great Outdoors

The community of Barbourville is remembering the life of Dale Rantz‑Lemanski Jr., who passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the age of 51. His passing has left a deep sense of loss among his family, friends, and all who knew him, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Dale was born on June 16, 1974, in St. Joseph to Dale Edward Rantz and Debra Schadler. Throughout his life, Dale built strong connections with those around him, earning a reputation for his loyalty, quiet strength, and genuine love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his close friend Dennis Walters (Teliza), whose friendship meant a great deal to him. Dale leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever cherish the time they shared with him. He is survived by Carla Rantz and their four children: Harleyann T. Rantz and Henry M. Rantz, born from his marriage to Carla Owens on August 18, 2000, as well as Destinee M. Madgysie (Ronald) and Dale Rantz Myers (Abbie), from his earlier relationship with Tina Hudson.

Dale also leaves behind three beloved grandchildren—Ramsee Madgyesi, Christlynn Hoskins, and Hazel Eastridge—along with his brother Jamie Lemanski (Jenny), whom he loved deeply. His family circle includes one niece, Cyanna Lemanski, and five nephews: Isiah Lemanski, Elijah Lemanski, Dennis Walters, Timothy Walters, and Jacob Darda, along with many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.

Dale enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved collecting old knives and polishing rocks, hobbies that brought him peace and satisfaction. Most of all, he found comfort in nature—spending time hunting, fishing, and camping whenever he could, often seeking the quiet beauty of the mountains.
