The community of Bluffton is mourning the loss of Dr. Bartholomew Hott, a trusted and compassionate dentist who served local families for more than 15 years. His passing was announced by Hott Family Dentistry in a heartfelt Facebook post expressing deep sorrow and gratitude for the outpouring of support.

Describing themselves as “heartbroken,” the practice shared that it will close for the week out of respect and to allow staff and family time to grieve. Plans are underway to arrange for a new provider, with hopes of reopening as early as next week. The office asked patients for patience and understanding during this difficult transition.

Dr. Hott, a Bluffton native, built his career on both clinical excellence and genuine kindness. A graduate of Purdue University, he went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
